  Great facility with friendly and professional staff. In need of maintenance and rehab in many areas. The pool is smallish and falls short of expectations. Registration system, especially for camps, woefully outdated and needs to be modernized.

  I don’t find the Y as useful for people who work. I see tons of classes during the morning or early day, but fewer for people who get off work at 4 or so and want to have a workout around 5 or 5:30. Right now, they only have up a schedule for the two weeks of break and nothing after that which makes it difficult to plan.

  North Suburban YMCA is a good but old facility. Unless you got used to it it feels like a maze, especially since a lot is on the underground level with locker rooms and a gym. Everything feels disjointed as if there is no ryme or reason for where to go. Once you get used to it it's OK but still after years going in there I have to stop and think how to get where I need to go. Also, it's mostly meant for kids facility so a lot of equipment is in various disconnected rooms.
  Also, the overall price for just adults is high in contrast to the completion around. So unless you are buying into a family membership and have several kids attending classes it may not be worth it. As an example, Pool hours are quite limited for Open Swim.
