My husband and I drive to Northbrook on a Monday night from normal Il on our way to a luxury hotel and we decided to stop by this place for a nice dinner. The environment was nice, it was quiet ( but frnchescas next door had a lot of people in it) and the seating was along a booth. They had candles lit which was nice and the servers were on top of everything. I decided to order the beef prime rib - medium and my husband had the braised short ribs. The prime rib was 68.00 and a Heineken was 12.00, the short ribs 26.00. The wait was not very long and like I said, the waiters were consistent on our refills...but when the steak came out it was sitting on a bed of fries that looked like they were from Steak ‘n Shake , very greasy and served with catsup! Yes, that’s right-ketchup, catsup....however you’d want to spell it, and NO STEAK SAUCE. Nothing else, for 68.00! Come on! You’d have to wipe my face for me to want to pay that for a steak and only a steak. It should have a potato or something and I had to order 8.00 side of asparagus with it. My husbands food was served on a bed of mashed potatoes and not terribly priced, but it just wasn’t good tasting. I did not read the reviews, I still haven’t but I wanted to make sure that people know this is a high priced place but you don’t get what you pay for. I won’t go back - not for the food anyway.
